Nigel held operational HR roles with American oil companies Marathon Oil (UK) and Amerada Hess before being requested by Grampian Enterprise to help set up a recruitment website specific to the Oil & Gas industry. In 2000, Nigel was approached by the executive search company ‘Norman Broadbent’ to join as a Director within the Energy and Natural Resources Practice. A veteran of over 150 retained global searches, his work covers board, senior and mid-tier appointments across the oil & gas, nuclear, utilities, renewables, clean energy, environmental, mining and minerals sectors.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Nigel serves on several industry bodies including the Energy Institute (EI) and the Energy Industries Council (EIC). He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB) as well as the Scottish Oil Club. Nigel is an Alumni of Aberdeen University having obtained the Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. He is qualified psychometric profiler with SHL.
